Mr. Alexei Buyanov

Non-Executive Director

Alexei Buyanov was elected to MTS’ Board of Directors in June 2003.

Since September 2002, Mr. Buyanov has served as Senior Vice President of Sistema, heading the company’s financial and investment group. Mr. Buyanov joined Sistema in 1994 and until 1995 he worked in property management at the company. In 1995, he was appointed Head of the department of Sistema-Invest and then became Vice President of Sistema-Invest. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Buyanov served as Vice President of MTS from 1998 to 2002. In July 2002, he was appointed Vice President of Sistema to run the department for financial restructuring.

Mr. Buyanov graduated from the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute (MFTI) in 1992 with a Degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics.
