Michel Combes was elected a member of the Board of Directors of MTS PJSC in 2013, already being a member of the Audit Committee, the Remuneration and Nomination Committee and the Strategy Committee of the Board of Directors of MTS PJSC.
He holds the offices of Acting Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SFR-Numericable, Non-Executive Director of HDL Development, Chief Executive Officer of Altice, a member of the Board of Directors and the Chief Non-Executive Director of Altice NV, the Netherlands. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Director of SFR Group, President of SFR Business Solutions, Futur Telecom, Ypso France, NC Numéricable, Numericable US, Completel, Altice B2B France, LTI Telecom, Omea Holding and Omea Telecom.
From 2008 to 2012, he served as Chief Executive Officer for Europe at Vodafone, London, and Non-Executive Director of Vodafone PLC. From 2013 to 2015, he was Chief Executive Officer of Alcatel-Lucent SA. From 2003 to 2014, he served as Non-Executive Director, and subsequently Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Assystem. From 2010 to 2013, Michel was Director of ISS and from 2014 to 2015, he held the office of Non-Executive Director at Altice. At various times he served on the Board of Directors of Vodafone, (Orascom Wind), Atari, TDF (Telediffusion de France), Eurotunnel, Atos, and Procapital.
From 2006 to 2008 he was CEO of TDF. In 2003, he was appointed Senior Vice President and CFO of France Telecom. In this position, he worked until 2006 to integrate the French telecommunications operator with Orange and Wanadoo and transform it into an integrated operator. From 1985 to 2002 he held various managerial positions at a number of leading French companies.
Born in 1962 in France, he graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Higher National School of Telecommunications in Paris and holds degrees from Paris Dauphine University (PhD in Corporate Strategy) and the Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (PhD in Forecasting).
