According to the E-Commerce Index TOP-100 2016, issued by Data Insight, MTS online shop mts.shop.ru retains its leadership among Russian operator’s e-shops by online sales in 2016.
Data Insight research agency, specializing on e-commerce, monitored over 3,000 largest online shops in Russia and ranked them based on several parameters, including shop attendance, conversion of attendance to orders, order execution coefficient, and average bill. MTS e-shop was ranked #1 among operator’s e-shop #24 and in the overall rating.
In 2016, online sales at MTS e-shop reached RUB 5.2bln, demonstrating a solid growth of 41% year over year. The number of executed online orders grow comparably by 44% year over year.
Commenting on the ranking, Kirill Dmitriev, Vice President for Sales and Services at MTS, said: “While cutting the number of our physical shops, we are simultaneously increasing MTS online presence. Sales continue to move online. It is a global trend. Realizing the growing importance of e-commerce, we have been actively developing our e-shop since 2014. We continue to see positive results: for the last three years, our online shop share in the overall turnover of MTS retail showed an impressive growth from 3.7% in 2014 to 10.4% in 2016. Our ambition is to further increase this share to about 13% in 2017.
Digital commerce is a key part of our updated 3D Strategy focused on digitalization. Our strategic goal in e-commerce is to make shop.mts.ru the key digital sales channel and transform it into a single marketplace for all MTS products”.
