This week MTS Vice President and CIO Frederic Vanoosthuyze shared his thoughts with The Wall Street Journal on how MTS is optimizing technology and its business processes to prepare for the new “data-intensive environment.” According to the WSJ, MTS’s new IT infrastructure will “allow applications to share physical computer resources more efficiently” which in turn will “speed up its deployment of new technology by creating common procurement systems with business partners such as Vodafone.”

Frederic also discusses the approach he brings to his role as CIO: “Rather than viewing myself as the CIO, I view myself as a member of the company—and I am taking care of IT. Instead of seeing myself as just a tech person, I also must comprehend business and finance and look at IT as the glue between those things.”
