MTS announces subscriber growth numbers for December 2007

Moscow, Russian Federation – Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (“MTS” – NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, announces that its consolidated subscriber base reached 81.97 million users on December 31, 2007.

During December 2007, MTS’ consolidated subscriber base increased by 1.76 million subscribers.
